Our film evenings are a new departure for the Flux.  Before each film there will be a short introduction and afterwards
an opportunity to sit around and talk about each film.  We are open to suggestions about future screenings.

Sun 14th Oct 2007 " Capote "

This film tells the story of the research and writing of Truman Capote's  groundbreaking
documentary novel " In Cold Blood". After hearing about some gruesome murders in 1959, he travelles
to Kansas with fellow writer Harper Lee to investigate and in the process becomes intimately
acquainted with murderers. This film deals with the predatory relationship between the writer
and his subject and compares it with that of the murderers and their victims.

Sun 21st Oct 2007 " Pinero "

This film documents the life of Miguel Pinero the New York based Puerto Rican poet/playwright  whose
astonishing creativity was fuelled by a depraved criminal lifestyle which remained unaltered even
by artistic recognition and material success. His urban poetry is considered to be one of the major
influences on modern rap.

Membership of the fluxfilmclub costs £3.00 and can be purchased on the door.
