Poems from "The Joy of Ron" by Ronald Arthur Dewhirst
Allotment
Oh, allotment.
When you were wild,
I tamed you.
When you were hungry,
I gave you water.
Yea, verily,
Even in the dry places.
I really dug you,
I turned you over,
And then I fertilised you,
And planted my seed.
And now you're letting slugs
Crawl all over you.
I Am (# 1)
I am Ronald Arthur Dewhirst,
Tall and good looking,
I give the girls what they want,
Some crisps and half a lager.
I Am (# 3)
I am Ronald Arthur Dewhirst,
Why do the clouds go by?
It's because they have no house,
They can't get a mortgage.
